A beacon of calm on the dynamic Melbourne arterial of Swanston Street, Upper House is both an architectural statement and a 17-storey home where community flourishes. It’s two distinct buildings, The Podium and The Cloud, and it’s a direct response to the creative, iconoclastic city below. The JCB Piccolo collaboration is made up of private, peaceful retreats and inspiring shared spaces. A retreat in the clouds.

“Upper House brings to life exceptional design detail where the CBD skyline meets Carlton’s rooflines, Melbourne’s European heart. Upper House is a new way of embracing living – in the clouds.”

Michael Piccolo

With 110 apartments over 17 levels between them, The Podium hovers serenely over bustling Swanston Street while The Cloud perches above the low-line Carlton skyline and its intimate views of Melbourne. A partially transparent white glass curtain wall seemingly floats above The Podium levels, a unique façade formed from cantilevered, alternating balconies and windows creating a three-dimensional effect from afar.

Working with JCB Architects to specifically design a home for young professionals, Upper House pioneered ambitious residential design in Australia.

The Podium and the Cloud come together on the 11th-floor Observatory. The entire level – or over 10% of the total project, is a communal area, featuring a fully-equipped gymnasium, entertainment lounge, dining area, and a spectacular skyline garden. The green retreat showcases unbeatable views of Melbourne and brings residents together as a community.

Interiors are designed as distinct luxury spaces that showcase high-quality finishes and a sophisticated palette. Signature items are completed in black chrome.
