Elwood House resident shares her purchasing experience

I was familiar with Piccolo and their body of work before buying at Elwood House. It resonated with me both from an aesthetic and environmental point of view.

I think you would agree when viewing Elwood House now from street level how beautifully and sympathetically it is positioned within the streetscape – as if it has always been a part of Elwood.

Aesthetically, Elwood House ticks all the boxes for me. Buying off-the-plan can often result in a totally different reality to your original vision, however I was not disappointed. I live on the second floor facing onto Pine Avenue. It has spectacular views, and when sitting out on the balcony you feel like you’re in a very glamorous treehouse.

On initial inspection of the completed apartment I was overwhelmed by the attention to detail. I had a Master Builder of 40 years’ experience with me at the time. He asked me if I had any idea that the apartment was going to look so incredible. He was very impressed with the apartment and its surrounds.

For me the proportions of the rooms are perfect.

I was a little concerned because I was downsizing from a two-storey, five-bedroom family home, so the height of the ceilings and the room sizes were very important. And the consideration of the fittings, fixtures and colour scheme is wonderful. It is quite neutral which has allowed me to be very adventurous with my furniture, paintings and decorative pieces.

The initial moving in date was seamless and well orchestrated. I received great onsite assistance – any issues were quickly resolved, and the handover was excellent. Piccolo treated me with the utmost respect.

Other considerations by Piccolo I really appreciated including having a personal appointment with a Hecker Guthrie interior designer to discuss visions for the apartment.

Having a liaison at Good Guys for assistance with white goods, and offering workshops with the people at Gaggenau for assistance on how to best to use my new appliances, also exceeded my expectations and delighted me.

I have been here now for 17 months and every morning I wake up to this truly magnificent space. The natural light here is magical.

I have not only invested in a home. I’ve invested in a complete lifestyle.

Stepping outside, I’m in walking distance of the best strip of shops in Melbourne, the beach, St Kilda, great restaurants, and I’m just 20 minutes from the South Melbourne Market and 30 minutes from the CBD. It’s been my city sea change. Elwood House has offered me the very best of everything.
