Now in its eighth year, The Urban Developer Awards has become one of the property industry’s most respected and independently judged programmes. This year’s field was the largest yet with more than 200 finalists across 26 categories, assessed by a panel of 40 independent industry leaders spanning development, design, construction and planning.
Piccolo House – 385 Gore St, Fitzroy stood out for its contemporary interpretation of Fitzroy’s industrial and heritage character. Judges praised the project’s high-quality design and durable materials, its strong architectural collaboration, and its financial and planning performance, which reflected genuine engineering innovation.
“Every winner has earned that recognition through a rigorous assessment,” said Adam Di Marco, chief executive and founder of Urban Developer, at the presentation. “They embody vision, courage, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to creating better places for people.”
This result reflects the strength of the collaboration behind it, with architecture by Woods Bagot, interiors by Hecker Guthrie and landscape design by Acre. Their shared commitment to quality and craft is central to the project’s strong resonance with the judges.
This award reflects the values we return to on every site, where quality is a given rather than a promise, and every building is made to respect its context and endure long after completion.
